Our final rehearsal (or General Rehearsal as it is more commonly known in Europe) is this evening, preceded by a dinner for donors and board members. This is an opportunity for those closeset to COT to learn a little more about the production, and also to meet the director, designer and conductor for a Q and A. It is always a relaxed occasion and greatly enjoyed by all.
I am just looking forward to this culmination of all we have been working towards for the last almost five years with Teseo, the third of our Medea themed operas. It has been a rewarding journey. And it is I believe the 41st opera we have mounted during the 13 years that I have been in Chicago. How many of them have you seen?!
Yesterday afternoon and again this afternoon I was at the Moscow, Cheryomushki understudy rehearsals. Their thoough preparation is one of the features of our young artists program. There will be a complete run tomorrow afternoon. They are remarkable - a great acheivement!
I guess I will be home quite late tonight so this may be the last you hear from me today. But I will try to get some more Teseo pictures on the website. I will do my best..............
