'Sila: The Breath of the World' by John Luther Adams, co-commissioned by Cal Performances, opens Ojai at Berkeley next Thursday. The composer's words: 'In Inuit tradition the spirit that animated all things is Sila, the breath of the world. Sila is the wind and the weather, the forces of nature.' Performers are dispersed on the lawn, among the trees, and you in the audience free to walk among them surrounded by nature and music, blended into one.
