Now that your taxes are filed, you can relax and enjoy a number of outstanding music and dance performances, both serious and comic, that fill Kansas City’s calendar during the last weeks of April. Te Deum and the Village Chamber Choir are joined by the Kansas City Baroque Consortium for Bach’s Mass in B Minor. For opera fans, the Lyric Opera presents "The Mikado" and newEar and the Owen/Cox Dance Group team up for the contemporary opera "Darwin" at Union Station. Along the comic lines Les Ballet de Trockadero de Monte Carlo will have them laughing at Yardley Hall. Dance fans will enjoy a performance by Quixotic Fusion at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The Bach Aria Soloists, meanwhile, present a Night of Tango. And that is just a taste; many more excellent performances are listed below.
