The Louisville Youth Orchestra is ramping up for its 2010-2011 concert season with auditions starting August 28 and running through September 5. The five different LYO ensembles perform concerts throughout the area, and will be featured in several high-profile events, including a concert with My Morning Jacket and a side-by-side concert with the Louisville Orchestra. Auditions are held at Louisville Collegiate, and you can download an application here. For more information call (502) 896-1851. Jason Seber is the orchestra’s Music Director, and talked with Classical 90.5′s Daniel Gilliam about the audition process, the new season and how to get involved.

The Stephen Foster Story Musical has been a Bardstown tradition for over 50 years. The outdoor performance explores the life of Stephen Foster through his songs, with a full cast of local singers and soloists from around the country.
