The Louisville Youth Orchestra is ramping up for its 2010-2011 concert season with auditions starting August 28 and running through September 5. The five different LYO ensembles perform concerts throughout the area, and will be featured in several high-profile events, including a concert with My Morning Jacket and a side-by-side concert with the Louisville Orchestra. The Stephen Foster Story Musical has been a Bardstown tradition for over 50 years. The outdoor performance explores the life of Stephen Foster through his songs, with a full cast of local singers and soloists from around the country. The Louisville Orchestra begins the 2010 summer season with the traditional Independence Day concert on July 3 at 8:30 p.m. This year the concert, under the direction of resident conductor Jason Weinberger, will take place at Jeffersonville’s River Stage.
